The boys went to the Dairy Breakfast with Grandma & Papa this weekend. They made a "sandbox" for the kids to play in and filled it with feed corn for the day. Lots of fun & no sand to clean off the kids! They also had lots of animals for the kids to see & pet.

I finally had the twins pictures taken! I was very happy that they cooperated and we got some cute shots. I think it went so smoothly because it was just me & the twins. Once you add more kids to the mix chaos ensues. I already warned the photographer that I wanted to do a picture of all 5 kids sometime soon. She suggested waiting until we do our Christmas photo- what a chicken. LOL.

ICHE Conference

Rick & I attended the ILLINOIS CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS CONFERENCE in St. Charles IL Thursday thru Saturday. We were lucky enough to attend all three days because my Dad & Deb took D’Angelo, Auggie & Adeline to Michigan for the holiday weekend while my Mom took care of the twins.
This was the first time we attended an ICHE conference and we are so happy we did. It was truly an awesome weekend filled with spiritual encouragement, practical help, and fellowship. Our favorite part of the conference was hearing Dr. Voddie Baucham ... The man is an incredibly powerful preacher. We bought a bunch of his cd’s and already started listening to them. We also purchased the KONOS curriculum which seems fantastic. It focuses on character traits using unit studies that can be taught to multiple grade levels at a time. It requires lots of hands-on-learning which I love. We also bought a ton of other great stuff at the conference.

A little bit about Voddie Bauchman
From the ICHE website:
Dr. Voddie Baucham has been referred to as an "Evangelist to intellectuals." He is one of the most sought after preachers of his generation. His unique blend of sound biblical exposition, theological content, down-to-earth demeanor and engaging presence make it clear why this man is considered a modern day prophet. Dr. Baucham is a graduate of Southwestern & Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminaries. He has also done additional post-graduate study at the University of Oxford in England. His academic emphasis is Cultural Apologetics. Vodie is an author, Bible teacher, professor and pastor. He currently serves as Pastor of Preaching at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, Texas.
More importantly, he is a husband and father who is actively involved in his children's home education.

I like organization.

I like organization.
I have a need for organization in my life & in my home. My organization has turned into organized chaos in the past few months! I decided to go on a shopping trip to IKEA with the intent of coming home with storage solutions. What I came home with was more of the storage shelves that I am currently using in the kids playroom. I was excited to have them & wanted to get right to building them. One little problem though...Do you have any idea how hard it is to build IKEA furniture let alone having 3 little helpers & twin infants demanding attention? Needless to say I had quite an experience getting these shelves together.

It is amazing to me how very quickly time is moving these days. My new babies are already ten weeks old! Where has the time gone? As much as it is amazing to see them grow up I am already wishing I could slow it down. I still wonder how D'Angelo could possibly be turning three this September; he was such a little peanut when we got him!
My first Mother's Day was in May 2005...I celebrated as a Mommy of 1. My second Mother's Day May 2006 I was a Mommy of 3... My thrid Mother's Day 2007 I celebrated as a mommy of 5! I am so blessed.

Doctor appointments

Today Rick & I took Xavier & Oliver for their 2 month checkup and Adeline for her 18 month.

Oliver is 10# 11oz and 24inches
Xavier is 10# 4oz and 22inches
Adeline is 27# and 35 inches tall!

Xavier has been spitting up more than half of every feeding so he is always hungry. I just switched him to Nutramigen (a hypoallergenic formula) 2 days ago. We aren’t seeing an improvement yet but it takes time.

The boys both had fluid in their left kidneys while I was pregnant. I took them for tests and Xavier has grade 4 reflux in his left kidney & grade 2 in the right. Oliver doesn’t show a problem but they want to test further & have both boys see a kidney specialist.

I scheduled the twins to see the kidney specialist June 13th. Our doctor got us this June appt. (The specialist was already scheduling August/September appointments). Our doctor also told me today that she wants me to have Adeline tested for the kidney reflux. She said siblings have a 40% chance of having the same condition. hopefully Adleine will be fine.

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day by going to brunch with my Mom & Stepdad. D'Angelo, Auggie & Adeline came with us while a friend came to our house to watch the twins. Our brunch was wonderful however Rick needed to leave early to take Auggie & Adeline home. Auggie was getting loud and pulling on the tablecloth while Adeline just wanted out of her chair! Our weather was nice so we spent lots of time outside playing after brunch.

making brownies

D'Angelo likes to help me in the kitchen every chance he gets.
We made brownies together Saturday night.
"the best part of making brownies!"
Happy Sunday! I am still having trouble uploading pictures to the site. I have no idea what is happening during the process. This morning the twins & I went walking around Lake Arlington with some friends of mine and their kiddos. Then, I stopped back at home and switched kids with Daddy. I took D'Angelo, Augustine & Adeline to a playgroup while Daddy kept Xavier & Oliver at home.
